About RareBitcoin
RareBitcoin was built from curiosity.
When I first learned about rare sats, what caught my attention wasn't price or speculation. It was the patterns. Palindromic number sequences. Early blocks. Specific moments in Bitcoin's history permanently etched into individual satoshis.
Once you start looking closely, you realize something important: most Bitcoin holders have no idea what they actually hold.
Rare sats live inside UTXOs. They move through transactions quietly. They can be spent without anyone realizing their historical or collectible significance. That idea alone was enough for me to look deeper.
Why I Built This
As a collector, I wanted a simple way to answer one question:
"Do I already own rare bitcoin?"
Not balances. Not prices. Just the sats themselves.
I was especially drawn to:
- Palindrome sats and numeric symmetry
- Early block sats like Block 78, associated with Hal Finney
- Pizza sats, tied to one of Bitcoin's most iconic moments
The more I explored, the more I realized how small this space still is. There aren't many collectors, and there aren't many tools built with collectors in mind. RareBitcoin started as a way for me to explore, verify, and understand what I was seeing on-chain.
What RareBitcoin Is
RareBitcoin is a reference and discovery tool for collectors. It helps you:
- Scan a Bitcoin address
- See if rare sats are present
- Understand what category they belong to
- Learn why those sats matter
This site does not move funds, connect wallets, or take custody of anything. It simply reads public blockchain data and presents it in a way that's easier to understand.
Self-Custody and Preservation
Two things matter most to me: self-custody and preservation.
Rare sats are easy to lose if you don't know they're there. Accidental spending, consolidation, or fee usage can erase something unique forever. The goal of this site is awareness first. Once you know what you have, you can make better decisions about how to store and protect it.
Privacy First
RareBitcoin is built to be lightweight and respectful.
You choose what address to scan, and you stay in control.
An Ongoing Experiment
This site is an experiment.
I'm using it to learn, document, and better understand rare bitcoin as a collector. The goal is not hype. It's reference, education, and preservation. If it helps other collectors discover something they didn't know they had, then it's doing its job.
